Pay Your Bill

South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association currently mails bills monthly on one of three different dates. Your billing date is determined by where you live on SLECA’s system. When you apply for service, you will be informed when you should receive your bill each month.

Your electric usage is measured by a watthour meter. SLECA has personnel to read all meters every month unless special member instructions or circumstances prevent us from doing so.

If for some reason a meter reading is not taken, your kilowatthour usage will be estimated. An estimate is calculated by averaging your previous six month usage. In the event your monthly bill is estimated, your bill will state “E” under “billing code” on your bill card.

SLECA’s Automatic Credit Card Payment eliminates the monthly task and expense of writing checks and mailing or delivering your electric bill. You can have your electric bill automatically deducted from your checking account each month through electronic mail.

Bill Payment

A member has twenty (20) days to pay the net amount of the bill and an additional six (6) days in which to pay the gross amount. You may pay your bill by mail, come in to either office, or one of our remote payment sites, or use the night depository boxes available at each office. You may also pay your bill online.

If you anticipate that you will be absent for an extended period or unable to pay your monthly bill prior to the past-due date, please call one of SLECA’s offices and arrange for alternative means of payment or a delayed payment agreement
