Know Your Directors

What makes SLECA different from other electric utilities in South Louisiana is a board of directors elected by you, the member-owners. The directors are themselves SLECA members and are local residents. It is member ownership and member representation on the board of directors that makes SLECA such a people-oriented business.

DAVID LUKE – District 4
President

Board Vice President David Luke, a board member since 1981, is a wholesale seafood processor. For more than 35 years, the Dulac native has worked in seafood processing, beginning as a boy in his father’s plant (Luke Seafood). He and his wife, Elaine, are former owners of D’Luke’s Seafood, Inc., in Dulac, and St. Michael Ice & Fuel in Biloxi, Miss. A lifetime member of the VFW 4752 Rifle Team and the 2nd Marine Division Assn., Luke is also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7722 and the Grand Caillou Volunteer Fire Department. District 4 consists of the Grand Caillou and Dulac areas.

ROGER DALE DEHART – District 5
Vice President

Dularge native Roger Dale DeHart was elected to the SLECA Board of Directors in March of 1997. DeHart represents District 5, covering all of Bayou Dularge and Ashland North Subdivision. He has been a member of the Terrebonne Parish School Board for 28 years and currently serves as president of the School Board. DeHart served more than seven years as a commissioner for Fire District 10. He is very active in his community and is very serious about all of his commitments.

Abby R. LeBlanc – District 1

Abbylynn Rivet LeBlanc was born and raised in Gheens, Louisiana. She was appointed a SLECA director after the death of her father, Brian Rivet. Abby has grown up in the SLECA family and has witnessed firsthand most of her father’s thirty nine year commitment as a board member. Abby is passionate about her community and is excited to pick up the SLECA torch from her father. Abby is married to Jared LeBlanc and has two girls. In their spare time, they run a quality cow/calf operation. She is a board member of the local cattlemen’s association, carnival club and is active in Lafourche 4-H. Abby has been a full time employee at Lafourche Animal Hospital for 18 years. She is ready to be a voice for her community and learn how best to serve them.

TERRY TRAHAN – District 7
Treasurer

Director Terry Trahan, elected to SLECA’s Board of Directors in 1987, currently serves as the board treasurer. He retired from Trahan’s Heating and Air Conditioning after 34 years. Trahan is a native of Bayou Black who enjoys hunting often on his property in north Mississippi. He serves District 7, which includes areas of Bayou Black, Gibson, Southdown West, Ouiski Bayou and The Lakes.

JULIEN “J.D.” BOUDREAUX III – District 2

Julien “J.D.” Boudreaux III, a resident of Donner, has been active in the Donner-Chacahoula Fire Dept. and Jaycees and has served on the St. Lawrence Church Parish Council. He received the Bishop’s Medal in 1987. A self-employed grocery operator and bulk-fuel dealer, he served as the last president of the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury and was a member and first chairman of the Terrebonne Parish Council. A former Justice of the Peace, Boudreaux is the recipient of the Roland J. Thibodaux Award as a Terrebonne Parish school bus driver. He was appointed the District 2 SLECA director in January 2006 and has been re-elected to the position ever since.

LARRY J. DAIGLE – District 3
Secretary

Bayou Blue native Larry J. Daigle was elected to the SLECA Board in April 2004 representing District 3. Having served 39 years as senior vice president of Caro Produce and nine years as president of Prime Source and Southland Distribution, Daigle recently retired as the local produce buyer and grower liaison for Rouse’s Supermarket. A SLECA member since 1965, Daigle serves on the finance committee of St. Louis Catholic Church and has served on the parish council of the church for nine years. Daigle, who served as advisor to Bishop Boudreaux on the Pastoral Council, received the Bishop’s Award in 1988 for outstanding service to the parish. District 3 includes parts of Bayou Blue and Gray.

ALEXANDER DOYLE – District 6

Alexander Doyle, a resident of Houma, is president of the SLECA Board and has served in this capacity since his election to the Board in 1985. Doyle served as an attorney in Houma for 45 years, was a member of the Louisiana Bar Assn., and was qualified to practice law in Federal Court. Additionally, Doyle served as Terrebonne Parish’s Assistant District Attorney for 12 years. Doyle served as a lieutenant in the Army for two years, then served as a captain in the Louisiana National Guard and serves the District 6 areas of Mulberry, Barrios, Summerfield, Little Bayou Black, Coteau and Oakshire.

EROY ACOSTA – District 8

Stephensville native Eroy Acosta, elected to the Board in 1987, served his community as a restaurant and lounge owner for many years. Acosta is Board Member of the combined St. Martin Parish Sewage District Board and St. Martin Parish Water District Board. The Stephensville Volunteer Fire Dept. was established through his fundraising efforts and he served 21 years as president of the department. Acosta serves District 8, which includes Stephensville, Bayou L’Ourse, Deadwood and parts of Gibson, Morgan City and Greenwood. Acosta has also represented SLECA on the board of directors of the Assn. of Louisiana Electric Co-ops. Acosta says he enjoys serving the community at both the state and local level.

Trevor Benoit – District 9

Amelia native and long time resident Trevor Benoit is a semi-retired mechanic who currently is in the hotshot business making deliveries to local, regional and national locations. Benoit worked for the City of Morgan City in the Central Garage Department where he was responsible for maintaining over 100 pieces of specialized equipment. He eventually retired as supervisor of the department. Benoit is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has served as Deputy Knight, Grand Knight and District Deputy. Benoit represents SLECA District 9, which covers areas of Amelia, Siracusaville and part of Bayou L’Ourse. Benoit is proud and honored to follow in the footsteps of both his parents who served on the SLECA Board.

LLOYD GIBSON – Advisor to the board

Lloyd Gibson, serving as Advisor to the Board since 1984, is a general contractor and owner of Cookie’s Construction Co., Inc. A resident of Gibson, he has served as the Terrebonne Parish Constable in Ward 8 for 35 years. Gibson served as chairman of Terrebonne Parish Recreation Board, District 8, for 19 years and was senior deacon and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. James Baptist Church of Gibson for 26 years. He also serves on the board of the START Corp. and is the current president of H.O.P.E. of Terrebonne, a community civic organization. Gibson is very concerned about his community and is actively involved in its development.
